Why layering works
Layered necklaces create depth and movement around the neckline. A single fine chain can look sparse on its own, but two or three chains at different lengths frame the face and collarbones and make even a simple T-shirt or kurta look styled. Because each necklace is delicate, the overall look stays light rather than heavy.
Layering is also economical. You can reuse the same few chains in different combinations, adding a new pendant to refresh the look rather than buying a whole new statement necklace.
Start simple, then build
If you are new to layering, begin with two necklaces: a short fine chain at around 16 inches and a pendant at 18 inches. Once that feels natural, add a third longer chain or swap the pendant for a lariat.
